La relación entre Buffy y Spike es una relación bipolar, puede considerarse perfecta, si solo vemos una parte, y completamente tóxica, si solo vemos la otra. No quiero concentrarme en la relación en si, si no en el arc del personaje de Spike.
En este punto de la historia [spoiler] Spike ha recuperado su alma, está tan obsesionado con recuperar a Buffy, que ha querido convertirse en algo que sabe que ella ha querido, quiere convertirse en Angel. Pero Spike no es Angel. Spike ha sido muy malo en toda su vida, volver a recuperar el alma le vuelve practicamente loco y no está preparado para eso.
En esta escena, Spike retoma su canción (mi preferida) en "Once more time with a feeling". Él solo quiere descansar en paz y ya no puede. Es lo que quería, pero no sabe cómo afrontarlo.
Spike no tiene un arc fácil, en esta historia, es malo, obsesivo y leal, una combinación letal para él. [/spoiler] Es parte de la firma típica de Josh Whedon. Sus personajes siempre tienen un giro radical que nos deja atónitos. Me gusta aprender de ellos.
¿Qué podemos aprender de Spike? No hablo de moralmente ni nada parecido, si no del personaje en sí. Podemos aprender que todo no es blanco y negro, que la gente mala también hace cosas malas por buenas razones, que la gente se equivoca radicalmente y que tiene que pagar por esas equivocaciones y que muchas veces no se llevan el premio.
